On the Friday, 15 January 2021, at the Wisma Konsul RI Darwin, a meeting was conducted between the Consulate of Republic Indonesia Darwin with 32 representative who are public figures and Indonesian diaspora in the Northern Territory.
The objective of the meeting is to brainstorm the establishment of “Rumah Indonesia” the Indonesian home which is a independent initiative by the Indonesian community/Diaspora in the Northern Territory as a centre for creative activities in an effort to preserve and promote Indonesian culture and values in the Northern Territory.
In the meeting the following agreement has been made:
The Indonesian community and diaspora in the Northern Territory has agreed and support the ideas the developed the Rumah Indonesia/ Indonesia Home for the objective to preserve and promote Indonesian values and culture in the Northern Territory.
Agree that the Consulate of the Republic of Indonesia will form a committee or task force for planning and constructing the Rumah Indonesia in the Northern Territory
The committee/ Task Force will be appointed by the Consulate of Republic Indonesian in Darwin to implement planning, designing the Rumah Indonesia, approach the Northern Territory Government and other stakeholders to propose a grant and implementing the construction/development of Rumah Indonesia in
In implementing the task, The Rumah Indonesian Development Task Force will be made by the Consulate will be directly responsible to the Consulate and the Indonesian Community and Diaspora. Their obligation is to report each development, of planning and development and physical construction of Rumah Indonesia in a transparent manner.
That is the agreement made and signed by all stakeholders in the meeting and becomes our joint consideration and united support. Attached are the list of participants of the meeting.
